First thing that needs to happen is we need to crack into this little box. Be careful when opening the unit as once its opened it doesn’t like going back together very well. “I used a small screwdriver to pry the short end with the headphone jack open. Be careful not to damage the small PCB inside.
Don’t mind the wires running through the headphone jack that’s the USB cable we will be installing. Once open we will be looking for the pins on the back of the unit.
Sorry for the pore picture quality. these are the pins needed to make the USB function, you can reroute the cable anyway you see fit through the unit. I ran the USB wires through the headphone jack port works perfectly “who uses headphones anymore anyway?”
Caution: use a light touch with these wires and pads as the wires will spring off the pad, use a bit of flux to help the process go smoother. the pads should only be heated just enough to melt the solder “no more than 2-3 seconds” so not to damage the unit. Once you have routed the wires and soldered the unit for USB access you can reassemble the unit, use what ever you see fit to close the unit back up. Now plug your Omnia i900 in and give it a go windows should start finding drivers for the phone. This unit also charges the phone while in USB mode as well.
